ADVOCACY
One of the core values of the community of Urban Journey is sacrificial living. We believe that God invites us to follow the example of Jesus by caring for those in need in very practical ways. And as Mennonite Brethren, “we believe that alleviating suffering, reducing strife, and promoting justice are ways of demonstrating Christ’s love” (see MB Confession of Faith).
Our involvement in social justice issues within the city of Vancouver and around the world is not a fad, but a central part of living as followers of Jesus in this world. Loving our neighbour goes beyond the occasional friendly smile to sacrificially giving of our time, money, and heart to care for others.
